🧭 Trail Description

The trail to Spruce Flats Falls starts quietly behind the Tremont Institute, winding gently uphill through shady hardwood forest and occasional rocky steps. You’ll pass through a mix of rhododendron tunnels, mossy outcrops, and wildflowers if you catch it in spring.

At just under a mile in, the trees open up and you’ll hear the falls before you see them — a series of dramatic cascades tumbling down into a tranquil pool surrounded by smooth rock slabs and lush greenery. The area is flat enough to hang out for a while, take photos, or let the kids explore (carefully — rocks are slick when wet!).

📝 Tip: The trail is unofficial and unmarked, but well-worn. Use offline maps or the AllTrails route to stay on track.
